Established in 1884 by Charles Freihofer, the son of German immigrants, Freihofer’s Baking Co. was founded as a bakery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The bakery, dedicated to the utilization of the finest ingredients, was met with resounding success. In 1913, a new commercial baking plant, the Freihofer Bakery, was constructed in the Lansingburgh section of Troy, New York by Charles and his brothers. This new facility featured an innovative seventy-foot-long traveling bread oven, enabling them to meet customer demands. Shortly after its opening, the city of Troy was hit by a torrential downpour. In a commendable act of altruism, the Freihofer Bakery used their newly constructed facility to bake and distribute hundreds of loaves of bread to flood victims. Since the original Freihofer's sold their business some years ago it's had different owners and the quality has gone down hill. Many favorites we're discontinued . The taste is nothing to tell your friends about . The only thing left is a memory .

Had To Dump

Those are products that has a low discount but they have little date before exp. For 3/$7 for example donuts, some bread 🥪 hot buns ,cake , silce break and so on...Go check it out....

Love this place since I was a kid. Amazing items at very good prices.

Lovvvveee these kinds of shops! Always find a good, unique assortment of snacks, bread and more at a very reasonable price... they had a huge selection to choose from of cakes, doughnuts, bread, chips and more. Got two desserts for $5 when they are normally more than $5 each.. they also sometimes have a "mangers special" area where things that are gonna expire soon are priced around $1-2 dollars each.. nice employees, tons of parking, great selection and prices.. not noticable in traffic thankful they had a sign!! Doesn't look like it's a retail shop but it is!! Will definitely return when I'm in the area.

Great place. Why would anyone buy bread and packaged cookies and cake anywhere else. Their prices are a fraction of what you pay in the supermarket . It is a clean, well organized and staff friendly store.
